Story[]

Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters[]

Shortly before the events of Sisters vs. Sisters, Anri witnesses in terror as the PC Continent is destroyed by the Ashen Goddess; including the building her parents were in. Following this, Anri swears to herself that she will have her revenge. After fleeing the nation, Anri is approached by Arfoire, who takes advantage of her desperation and promises to help her avenge her family if Anri works for her. Having nothing left to lose, Anri accepts.

Throughout the events of the game, Anri acts as a spy, going back and forth between working with Nepgear and the others, and donning a suit of mech armor known as F2P while working under Arfoire. Although she has sinister ulterior motives, Anri does work hard under Histoire to investigate the Trendi Outbreaks. When Nepgear and the others encounter her as F2P, she uses an AI voice modifier so as to not reveal her identity.

As their investigation continues, Anri quickly forms a bond with Nepgear and Maho's group, whether she meant to or not. This causes her to slowly begin to doubt her actions, escalated by the discovery that Arfoire herself is the cause of the Trendi Outbreaks. Despite this, Anri continues to play both sides.

F2P is once again encountered in the Arena, where it is discovered F2P is indeed working with Arfoire. Nepgear defeats F2P, thus cutting off this method of Arfoire's income. Notably, after being defeated, F2P remarks that its mask had been destroyed, though this is off-screen, and the group does not yet know it is Anri in the suit.

In chapter 8, it is revealed that Maho is the human form of the Ashen Goddess without her memories. While this is a shock to everyone, Anri is especially enraged to learn that her parents' murderer was right in front of her all along. Donning the F2P suit, Anri attempts to kill Maho in her sleep, but she is caught by Nepgear and flees. Shortly after, Anri messages Maho telling her to meet her "at the place that holds our memories". When they meet up, Anri attempts to get her revenge once more. Upon seeing Nepgear arrive to put a stop to it, she has a mental breakdown and attacks everyone in her F2P suit. She is defeated of course, and the suit is too damaged to keep fighting. Yet still, Anri persists in fighting without the suit. During the battle, Anri says that she's not even sure if she wants to kill Maho; but if she can't avenge her parents, then she will truly have nothing left. Once again Nepgear and the others defeat her, leaving her barely able to even move her body. Seeing the suffering of someone she considered a friend, Maho makes the decision to allow Anri to take her life; saying that due to her memory loss, it's the only way she can make up for what she's done. Yet, despite this, Anri finds herself unable to pull the trigger. She surrenders and is taken to the Basilicom for treatment and custody. At this moment, Anri decides to stop cooperating with Arfoire, and stays with the people who care about her.

After a few days pass, Anri is willingly taken by IF for questioning. In exchange for surrendering her weapons, and revealing everything she knows about Arfoire and her plan, Anri is let free to go. No longer thirsting for vengeance, she opts to abandon the F2P persona for good and work with Nepgear and Maho for real this time, and atone for her betrayal.

In chapter 12, the group has one final encounter with the F2P mech suit in the Gamindustri Graveyard, this time without Anri in it. The Beastiary entry for this version of F2P makes note that "its performance should have improved, but its attacks lack the same weight and passion as before". They defeat it, destroying the suit. Anri remarks that now she can finally let go of the past for good, as the group marches on to defeat Arfoire once and for all.
