Dark History

The term Dark History (黒歴史, Kurorekishi) refers to part of Gamindustri's history that has remained hidden since ancient times. Said part did not want to be forgotten and its grudge has somehow created eight physical manifestations of Dark History. These entities are known as the 8 Demon Gods (八魔神, Hachi Majin), but they are also referred by the term "Dark History". They caused chaos and destruction and they were sealed on Academy Island as a result and their existence have been hidden by the people.

In MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies, the seal of the eight of the eighth Demon Gods, HachimaJin, has been broken and his influence causes to turn people, animals and monsters into zombies, which kicks the plot of the game's story. HachimaJin was sealed under Gamicademy and they are hiding there for the entirety of the game. After the Film Club discovered their whereabouts, the members of the club defeats them and the zombies are turned back to normal.

In Multi Mode, the seals of the other Dark Histories are broken and they cause havoc on Academy Island. All 8 Demon Gods can be fought in Multi Mode's various quests and they are the most difficult boss enemies along with the four Console Patron Units and the four Dark CPUs.

The Dark Histories may drop items known as Dark History Parts that function as Processor parts and increase the stats of the wielder. Collecting all eight Dark History Parts is required to to complete the trophy "Don't Piss Off HachimaJin!".

Etymology

The term "Dark History" (黒歴史, Kurorekishi) is inspired by the internet slang with the same name, which refers to embarrassing works that some people wish they could erase them from history and that they would be forgotten. This is referenced by Blanc.

Trivia

• Five of the Dark Histories are palette swaps of each other. Pechgeus is a palette swap of Mariwogeus, and Temdinkale and Doomkale are palette swaps of Megadonkale. However, their most distinguishing traits are their behavior in battle.
