Kurome tells her if the best chance is missed chance, it does not matter. She leaves a monster for the group to fight. Big Neptune creates a portal with her Nep-Note and the two of them leave.

Later, Kurome notices that the rescue mission has been able to enter her base dimension. She calls Arfoire and tells her to take Neptune's Nep-Note. She tells Neptune not to play dumb and that her only use is her Nep-Note but more specifically, Croire within her Nep-Note.

Croire revels in her freedom and never wants to see the Nep-Note again. Kurome is happy for Croire. Croire then asks how are the CPUs. Kurome says they are the perfect material for her Dark CPUs. Croire asks her if she is making a Dark CPU using their power as a basis.
She later instills the delusionary power into them. They are confronted by the CPU Candidates and Gold Third, where they have to battle them because the goddesses are filled with delusionary power.

  +
Kurome explains that the previous Dark CPU were made initiating the CPUs' abilities. Having the CPU means the Dark CPU can be made by asborbing the CPU's power to perfectly recreate said power. To assist with re-purposing the power, negative energy is added causing the CPUs to eventually fall into delusion. Croire tells Kurome that she is involved in something spooky and heartless. Kurome can't wait until the CPUs actually fall.
The goddesses eventually get out of the whirlpool of insanity thanks to Uzume's help with a share crystal.

  +
Kurome Ankokuboshi and Croire see the mission's arrival. Kurome notes that if she had known older Neptune would have lead them here, she would have killed her earlier. Uzume demands Kurome release the CPUs, B-Sha wants her to tell them why was the Gold Third toyed with and K-Sha just wants to beat her up. Kurome says the purpose of messing with the Gold Third was entertainment because if they fell into delusion, then the world would be chaotic.
  +
  +
B-Sha gets mad and Kurome continues saying that it is time to kill the mission. Uzume asks her how she intends to do that as she has Share Energy. Kurome instead asks Uzume to become one with her as they were originally one person. Uzume gets confused so Kurome decides to return all her memories to Uzume. Uzume struggles to cope with the new memories, so older Neptune and Umio try to help her up.
  +
  +
Kurome says it will take time to process everything so she decides to explain everything. Firstly, CPUs are essentially born from people's wishes. However, for Uzume, her people grew to hate her, they sealed her away then forgot about her. Uzume vowed revenge and just like that, her source of power shifted from Share Energy to Negative Energy generated by negative emotions. Using her delusion power coupled with negative emotions of her people, Uzume deleted all trace of herself from her people.
  +
  +
In turn, the people needed a new CPU, Uranus. Nepgear pieces it together, but Kurome announces that she is a CPU of Planeptune, Uzume Tennouboshi and demands they all kneel to her, increasing the gravity of the place forcing the mission to kneel. Kurome then explains that both the Zero Dimension and Heart Dimension are born from her dream of herself destroying Gamindustri, with the Zero Dimension serving only as an entrance to the Heart Dimension.
  +
  +
Uni says that is not possible but Kurome reminds her that her overall power to turn dreams into reality. This is why Planeptune hated her. Kurome tells the mission that she wanted to break out of the seal, but she could not. However, if her dream created dimensions, she break out of their dimensional boundaries instead of the seal. As she began to attempt this method, a part of Uzume split off from her and tried to stop the Dark CPUs trying to break the boundaries.
  +
  +
But that was good for her, as once Uzume battled the Dark CPU and started to gain Share Energy, she did as well. With the Share Energy, Kurome can observe the Hyper Dimension and appear as a sort of hologram but that was enough. Kurome decided to send Arfoire out to gain even more Share Energy. Kurome then came up with the idea to fuse the dimensions instead breaking out of the boundaries or seal. Nepgear, Umio and Uzume are in shock to learn that their adventures in the Zero Dimension only helped Kurome out.
  +
  +
Kurome says that the Gold Third are also to thank. The Golden Summits, that were created give a rare signal in multidimensional space. Their existance was thanks to the CPU Shift Period lowering the faith in the goddess, good enough for her to write the CPUs out of existance. Gamindustri, however needed protectors and created the Golden Summits. C-Sha concludes that both the Gold Third and AffimaX were justing playing into Kurome's hand. S-Sha calls Kurome scum.
  +
  +
Kurome continues, saying the fused dimensions will allow her to physically materialize the Dark CPUs. Kurome notes that with her Negative Energy, Uzume's Share Energy, Croire's power that came from another CPU, she can rule Gamindustri forever. She asks Uzume to become one with her again. Uzume refuses and says that if she was a predecessor, she would watch over the current CPUs not do what she has done.
  +
  +
Kurome says it is a shame and will kill her along with the rest of the mission. Uzume says that she is outnumbered. Kurome creates clones of Arfoire and explains that this is her dream, creating things from her memory is easy. She admits that this gave her quite a bit of trouble in the past but serves as a perfect pawn. Nepgear does not care and the candidates transform ready to fight to rescue their sisters.
  +
  +
Kurome tells them not to get too excited as the CPUs just fell into delusion and she allows them to awaken. The CPUs announce their intentions to torture their sisters and friends. Despite Older Neptune's desire to retreat, Nepgear manages to convince everyone to fight to return the CPUs to their senses.
  +
  +
After the battle, Uzume wonders why the CPUs aren't back yet. They should not be wanting to hurt their sisters or anything else they love. The CPUs apologize for their earlier actions. Kurome is in shock that they were able to drag the CPUs out of the whirlpool of delusion. She forces more Negative Energy to the CPUs.
  +
  +
The CPUs try their best to resist but are in pain. Kurome tells Uzume that she cannot win. Neptune pleads for Uzume's help. Uzume tells the CPUs they must be able to save themselves or else they can't be CPUs. Nevertheless, she admits they are a hassle and if they need help, she asks everyone to pray that to her that the CPUs can return to their senses. Kurome asks her if she is trying to create a Share Crystal and Uzume says that she is. Kurome says it is impossible but Uzume tells her not underestimate her illusion power.
  +
  +
Uzume with the faith of the everyone creates the crystal and transforms the CPUs to their Next Form. Kurome wonders what are those forms? Croire can't believe that they can neutralize all the Negative Energy.
  +
  +
Kurome reminds them she still has the completed Dark CPUs and unleashes Dark Green. Uzume activates her Sharing Field with the Share Crystal. The party destroy Dark Green but find Kurome smiling. Kurome says that she will win and Noire wonders if she is bluffing. Kurome asks them to check the dimensional co-ordinates. Nepgear checks and notices the dimension much closer to the Hyper Dimension but she says it has only been a short time.
  +
  +
Kurome explains it is because they are in the Heart Dimension, she can bring the Heart Dimension closer to the Hyper Dimension with no resistance. She notes that the dimension are close enough for her to materialize, at least for a short time. Croire creates a portal as the two begin to leave to the Hyper Dimension. Blanc asks her if she is running to which Kurome apologizes and leaves a bunch of fake clones of the CPUs for them to fight. She says she created them to influence their dreams but does not need them anymore. The party can dispose of them in however they wish. The two leaves.

Spoiler Alert!
This article contains spoiler information regarding the topic in question.
Do not proceed unless you want to be spoiled.

This is the original Uzume Tennouboshi, nicknamed Kurome Ankokuboshi by both the regular and older Neptune. She was the main antagonist and true mastermind behind all of the events in Megadimension Neptunia VII.

She was the Console Patron Unit (CPU) of Planeptune before Uranus and Neptune. However, she sealed herself away because she could not control her powers. Coming to hate Gamindustri, the source of her power shifted from Share Energy to Negative Energy. Becoming consumed by the Negative Energy she desired to break free from her seal to have her revenge. Her remaining Share Energy eventually split from her and took on the form of another Uzume Tennouboshi.

Profile

Kurome Ankokuboshi

Appearance

She resembles Uzume but has empty, dark blue eyes with a light red hue and long, dark blue hair. Her attire is inverted and covers more of her body, being black with accents of pale grey and indigo.

Personality

Kurome hates the inhabitants of Gamindustri, believing that she was created by them only to then be discarded and sealed away. Her hatred towards them has proven to be so great that it created the Heart Dimension as the embodyment of Gamindustri destroyed by her and the Zero Dimension as the embodiment of Gamindustri while it is being destroyed by her. Kurome wants to get revenge on Gamindustri for what she believes they did to her and has proven to stop at nothing to be able to do so. She is very manipulative, using Uzume, the Neptune from the Ultra Dimension, Gold Third and AffimaX to further her goals and being willing to dispose of them without hesitation both when she no longer needed them. She is also somewhat sadistic, manipulating and deceiving each of the members of Gold Third just simply to entertain herself.

Dark Orange

Appearance

Dark Orange resembles the other Dark CPUs, but its skin is a dark shade of gray and is mostly covered in orange and the lines running across its body are golden.

Personality

Her personality as in her Dark Goddess form is the same as in her normal form, although she loses her calm demeanor and loudly boasts about her incredible power.

Story

Megadimension Neptunia VII

Kurome used to be a CPU of Planeptune, but eventually sealed herself prior to the start of the game due to being unable to control her power. She believed that the people sealed her away and began to hate them; as a result, her Share energy shifted to negative energy. Sometime after that, a part of her "split", which was mainly the good aspects in her. Kurome attempted to fuse the Heart and Zero Dimensions together so that she could attack Hyper Dimension, but was unable to due to the good clone stopping her.

Zero Dimension Neptunia Z: Twilight of the Desperate CPU
Kurome can be said to have appeared in the Zero Dimension arc in front of Nepgear, the third time, she was investigating the history of the world. She takes the appearance of her good counterpart however. She says if it is Nepgear, she might be free from her "prison". Nepgear then thinks that the Zero Dimension is her prison.

Hyper Dimension Neptunia G: The Golden Leaders, Reconstructors of Gamindustri
Prologue
Kurome first appears in the Hyper Dimension Neptunia G arc. Using the negative energy created from the citizen's reaction to the CPUs being defeated by Gold Third, she was able to rewrite history.

Next, she asks Affimojas if he likes how the world was rewritten. He likes it, and she reminds him of their deal to acquire an item for her. He does and sent his associate Steamax to deal with it. Kurome wants to see Steamax but Affimojas refuses to let that happen.

Planeptune
Kurome returns to remind Affimojas about their deal. He says they are still looking for it and would not forget about it since he is indebted to her for rewriting of Gamindustri. Kurome asks for his opinion of the current Gamindustri. Affimojas calls a golden tree, monsters are multiplying, people are fighting and in despair, there is so much profit to be had from information. She wants to take it up an notch as people's suffering is like honey to her. It would be more profitable for the general and asks for his opinion. He does not respond.

Kurome finds a heart-broken Warechu in the alley and promises him so good dreams if he allows her to. Warechu understands that she is bad news and runs away. She follows him. Warechu finds B-Sha and Chuko. She says that if Warechu does not want her dreams then she'll give it to the two girls instead. She is quite glad that all important pieces are right here.

She turns Warechu who defended Chuko from Kurome's influence into a mindless monster and fixes B-Sha's fear of monster by making everyone she sees a monster to cause chaos in Planeptune.

Lastation
Kurome gives K-Sha a dream of her spending time with Noire which is interrupted by Uni. She tells her that if Uni was gone, K-Sha would have Noire all to herself. As K-Sha wakes up from the nightmare, she then disguises herself as Noire and acts nice towards K-Sha. Uni finds this strange as her sister already left for a quest. K-Sha gets upset at Uni for finding it strange that K-Sha is with Noire.

Kurome, as Noire then leaves with Uni to gather some information. The two act like a couple with and the fake acts clingy towards Uni. When Uni has had enough and snaps, she cries some fake tears. She later thanks Uni for the fun times when the real Noire returns from a quest.

That night, she gives K-Sha a dream of just her and Noire. She then notes, the greater distance between reality and delusion, the greater the despair. She can't wait for the show K-Sha will perform for her. K-Sha then tries to kill Uni. She is disappointed with the fact that Noire and Uni are able to snap bring K-Sha back to her senses.

She allows the Order Woman to continue with her plans to eliminate the CPUs along with K-Sha. She hopes their plan will succeed. The woman assures her of it.

She later tries again to get K-Sha to let Uni die, and this time it will look like K-Sha did not kill her. That way she will have Noire who appreciate her as the one who tried to save her sister. K-Sha refuses for Noire's happiness, so she tells her she will always be alone. This causes K-Sha to flip out and attack the Lastation sisters.

Unfortunately for Kurome, the Lastation sisters were able to stop her and forgive her making the girls closer friends.

Lowee
Kurome gives C-Sha a bunch of nightmares when she was captured by the revolutionary army. She hopes C-Sha would fall into endless delusion, however Financier breaks her out of it.

After all the problems in Lowee are seemingly solved, she attempts to take over C-Sha's body who tried so hard to prevent the delusionary power from escaping. C-Sha figures out that she is responsible for Gamindustri rewrite and the problems plaguing Lowee. Kurome does not care and just wants to use her body as a vessel. She wants to try out that Golden Power.

Unfortunately for her, Blanc, Rom and Ram were able to snap her back to her senses. She is not mad though as she knows AffimaX was able to acquire the item she wanted, the controller.

Leanbox
Kurome visits S-Sha in her dreams to give her ideas to help with S-Sha's plan. One particular plan was to use the Demon King but it died. S-Sha gets angry with her for that but Kurome explains that she misunderstood her, it was worshiped as a Demon King in her world. However, she does have another more drastic plan for S-Sha to use.

Heart Dimension Neptunia H: Trilogy Finale: Into Legend
Kurome disguises herself as Uzume and creates a hole from the Zero Dimension to the Hyper Dimension. She leads a horde of monsters into the Hyper Dimension which are intercepted by the CPUs of the Hyper Dimension. After the horde is defeated, Neptune closes off the hole between the Zero Dimension and Hyper Dimension. Kurome approaches the CPUs and complains to them.

Neptune is excited to see Uzume and asks her if she is investigating. Kurome says she is not investigating but she is the horde's commander. Kurome summons up Dark Purple surprising the CPUs. They ask what is going on and Kurome says their questions do not matter. Soon nothing will matter as they will soon drown in a whirlpool of delusion. Dark Purple captures the CPUs. Kurome notes that this was so easy, the CPUs did not even suspect it was a trap. She says she will soon complete Dark Purple.

Nepgear arrives to confront Uzume. Kurome tells her that it is great to see her again but she must leave. She would perfer if Nepgear would not get beat up until they meet again. She returns to the Zero Dimension with the captive CPUs. Kurome heads northeast with the Dark CPU and big Neptune.

Kurome meets Nepgear's rescue mission in the northeastern part of the Zero Dimension as Uzume is wondering what nation she once ruled. Kurome answers Planeptune. Uzume is not happy to see her and tells her that Planeptune is Nepgear's nation. Kurome tells her that Planeptune's history traces back to having themselves as the ruler. Uzume should remember sooner or later what Planeptune did to them.

Kurome also tells them that when the Zero Dimension hits the Hyper Dimension, they will collide. The resulting dimension is something like the Zero Dimension. Uzume tells her she will not let that happen. Kurome ignores that and asks Nepgear for the Swirl Console, she stole from AffimaX. IF asks her if she was responsible for everything in the Gamindustri Rewrite. Kurome confirms this and praises Planeptune's intelligence agent. Seeing as how Nepgear will not give her the Swirl Console, she leaves saying that the CPUs are turning out just fine.

Older Neptune and Kurome retreat into a dungeon. The party is able to corner them. B-Sha tells her that numbers increase the chance of success in rescue mission and B-Sha wants to have the best chance possible.

Trivia

  • As Dark Orange, she is the largest main antagonist of the franchise, being about 1.5 times bigger than the normal Dark CPUs.
    • On a side note, Dark Orange's battle quotes are variations of those used by the other Dark CPUs.
  • Fitting to the name "Kurome" and her overall black color scheme, there are black models of the Sega Dreamcast. Among them is the limited black Sega Sports model, which has the blue Sports logo on top of the console.
  • If the player fights her in the Colosseum, her "Give it up, 'Me!'" voice clip can be played even if Uzume is not present in the battle.
  • Kurome Ankokuboshi is a literal inversion of Uzume Tennouboshi's name in meaning. While Uzume Tennouboshi would roughly translate as "The Light of Heaven", Kurome Ankokuboshi would roughly translate as "The Darkness of Hell".
  • Kurome is the first and only antagonist to win in the bad ending of the game.
  • Dark Orange is the only Dark CPU not to appear as a giant boss enemy in MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies. The reason for this is that neither Kurome nor Uzume/Orange Heart can be fought in Multi Mode, unlike the four main CPUs and their Dark CPU counterparts.
